John spent many years at Blakewell creating the perfect smoked salmon and trout.He learnt the ancient art of curing and smoking fish living in Denmark, near the Fjords for many years. From the slow and traditional Scandinavian way John has created his ‘North Devon Cure’ smoked in the Blakewell Valley. He smokes his trout and salmon over matured woodchips, taking that extra time and attention needed to bring you the finest quality. He does‘t rush it, he takes his time with it, working in harmony with nature’s momentum. John is passionate about his Devon Smoked Salmon and Trout. He’d like you to experience it, he thinks you’ll enjoy it ... just like he does.

Hand-reared trout ready for the kiln
We produce our own Rainbow Trout which are cured and smoked over seasoned wood chips.
